The Ins And Outs of How We Do Business
-
How do you clean Air Ducts? We clean with a "point of contact" system. Which means, we use a large vacuum with a 35' hose that has a spinging brush on the end. We push the hose into the ducting and as the brush sweeps the walls of the ducts the vacuum sucks the debir up at the point of contact. We clean the air handler by topically vacuum the fan and box. Then fog the air handler with Thieves essential oils. Then we clean each vent, vent box and treat it with Thieves. The process if done corectly, is a tedious time consuming job. We will have one large vacuum, one "shop vac" stile, and an air scrubber running the entire time. It does produce a significant amount of noise.
-
How long does it take to clean Air Ducts?A rough estimate of time is, 15 to 20 minutes per supply vent, 30 to 40 minuts per return vent and 30 minutes to 1 1/2 hours to clean air handler. If the vents are painted and caulked in, it will take longer. If the vents have a flat head screw fastening it to the ceiling it will take longer. 2000 square foot house will take around 5 to 7 hours to clean and treat.
-
Should I be home when the Air Ducts are being cleaned? Most of our customers prefer to NOT be there while we clean due to the noise of the vacuums running the entire time. But it is ok for you to be home while the air ducts are being cleaned.

What is a supply vent, return vent, and air handler?"The supply vent is where the conditioned air is blown out into the room. The return vent is where the air is sucked back to the air handler. The air handler is the (HVAC) "metal box" that is eiter in a closet or in the attic.
